Liza Karamardian, DDS
After practicing in San Francisco for well over a decade, Dr. Karamardian moved to the South Bay and has really enjoyed getting to know the residents of the Los Gatos community for many years. She enjoys all aspects of being a dentist, especially emphasizing the important link between oral and systemic health. She doesn’t just treat the teeth – she treats the whole person! When she was a practicing dentist in San Francisco, Dr. Karamardian became involved with the San Francisco Dental Society and was elected as its President in 2001. In this role, she worked closely with the San Francisco Department of Public Health to start the first city-wide kindergarten dental screening program! This program successfully screened over 3,000 children in its first year and has continued to grow ever since. In 2004, she was nominated to join the prestigious International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Liza Karamardian brings over 25 years of dental experience to the Bay Area. She began her academic journey at UC Irvine, earning a BS in Biology in 1988 before going on to graduate from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1993. Following her graduation, she practiced in San Francisco for 12 years prior to establishing her practice in the South Bay.
A dedicated practitioner, she is committed to staying at the forefront of the field, regularly attending continuing education courses to refine her skills. She is an active member of the Santa Clara Dental Society, the California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
Her commitment to excellence was recognized early; during dental school, she earned several awards from both faculty and administration. Today, she continues her leadership and service by sitting on the Board of the Santa Clara County Dental Foundation, volunteering at community events, and serving on local charity boards. In 2015, she was honored as "Best Dentist" by the Los Gatos Award program.
Dr. Karamardian currently lives in Los Gatos with her husband and two children. When not busy at the dental office, she really enjoys volunteering at various community events and her kids’ schools. She also regularly attends yoga and aerobic classes at Courtside Club in order to stay fit.
